An AMA Crystal Awards Finalist for Best SEO Campaign: How a conversion-first content strategy transformed organic search from a secondary channel into Oasis Tile’s leading source of new customer revenue.
Oasis Tile is a premier e-commerce retailer specializing in high-end tiles for kitchens, bathrooms, and pools. Founded in 2008 as Glass Tile Oasis, the company built its reputation on curating specialty tiles across glass, mosaic, porcelain, shell, and natural stone for homeowners, designers, architects, and contractors nationwide.
Despite a strong product lineup, Oasis Tile faced a structural challenge in organic search. The tile industry is dominated by national chains with massive catalogs and established domain authority, including TileBar, Floor and Decor, and the home-improvement giants. Competing for organic visibility against these players required a sophisticated, sustained SEO strategy that most specialty retailers cannot execute independently.
By 2024, Oasis Tile’s organic presence was underperforming relative to the depth of its catalog. Average keyword positions hovered around 24, placing most product terms firmly on pages 2 or 3 of Google results. Organic search ROI sat at just 1.86. The core gap was the absence of a structured collection page strategy. The mid-to-lower funnel pages that capture high-intent searches like “blue bathroom tiles” or “glass backsplash tile” were either unoptimized or missing entirely, leaving substantial non-branded demand on the table for competitors to capture.
Rather than chasing high-volume informational keywords, Optidge prioritized collection and product category pages as the primary growth levers: /collections/glass-tiles, /collections/bathroom-tiles, /collections/blue-tiles, and /collections/pool-tile. These pages map directly to buyer-intent queries. Efforts were organized into three concurrent workstreams: technical SEO maintenance, collection page optimization, and supporting blog content, each feeding into a unified goal of driving organic purchases through the site’s highest-converting pages.
Oasis Tile serves four distinct buyer types: design-conscious homeowners, interior designers, architects, and contractors. Each searches differently. Homeowners search by application and style, designers by material and collection, contractors by specification and function. Google Search Console data and monthly keyword tracking were used to map these intent patterns to specific collection pages, guiding content briefs, metadata, and internal linking throughout 2025.
Each month, Optidge produced SEO briefs and five pieces of optimized content: a combination of new collection pages, re-optimizations of existing pages, and long-form blog articles. Over the course of 2025, this cadence produced more than 60 pieces of content. Collection pages were crafted to serve dual purposes: SEO-optimized text that establishes topical authority alongside design inspiration and product education that tile buyers require to convert. The impact was substantial. By 2025, previously modest pages had become the site’s primary organic revenue drivers: glass tile sessions grew from roughly 210 to 1,200 per month, bathroom tile from 216 to 682, and blue tile from 237 to 590.
A rigorous quarterly technical audit cycle addressed schema markup, crawl depth, structured data, redirect management, and indexability across the growing product catalog, ensuring stable rankings through multiple Google algorithm updates. Monthly client meetings with the Oasis Tile operations team maintained strategic alignment, with performance reviewed via shared Looker Studio dashboards and new product launches incorporated into the content calendar within the same production cycle.
Organic search evolved from a secondary channel to Oasis Tile’s leading acquisition source. By mid-2025, Google organic was driving more new customer orders than direct, paid search, and all other channels combined, a position it held through the remainder of the year. Monthly organic revenue peaked in November, the strongest single month of the engagement.
The Oasis Tile campaign demonstrates the compounding power of a conversion-first SEO strategy. By focusing content and technical investment on the commercial collection pages that connect directly to buyer intent, rather than broad informational traffic, Optidge built an organic channel that outgrew every other acquisition source and delivered returns more than triple the original target.
This campaign was named a finalist for the AMA Houston Crystal Awards in the Best SEO Campaign category.
