Crystal Awards Spotlight #4: Paid Social Wins

A family-owned moving company and a national hospital pharmacy management firm have almost nothing in common. They won Crystal Awards the same night, in the same discipline, for the same underlying reason.

This is the fourth and final post in our Crystal Awards Spotlight series, breaking down the campaigns behind Optidge’s five wins at the 2026 AMA Houston Crystal Awards.

Meet the Campaigns

Neither brand had any paid social presence before working with Optidge. What happened after launch looked very different for each.

Blue Ox Moving & Storage

Goal: Build a paid social program from zero for a family-owned mover, in a category dominated by discount banners and stock footage.

Blue Ox Moving & Storage is a Houston-based, family-owned residential mover built around founder Joe’s personal promise: that his team would handle every family’s most irreplaceable possessions with the same care he’d expect for his own. Optidge built its Meta ads program from scratch starting in early 2025.

Award: Best Paid Social Campaign, 2026 Crystal Awards.

The problem: The moving industry’s default creative playbook of discount banners and stock footage competes on price and logistics, where national franchises always win. A family-owned mover with a story worth telling needed a different way in.

CompleteRx

Goal: Turn a zero-lead LinkedIn campaign into the account’s most reliable pipeline source, without touching who it targeted.

CompleteRx is a national hospital pharmacy management company serving hospital executives, chief pharmacy officers, and pharmacy directors. It’s a long-sales-cycle, high-consideration B2B audience. Optidge launched CompleteRx’s first LinkedIn ads campaign in early 2025, using single-image ads aimed at exactly the right decision-makers. From February through March, it earned 52 clicks and zero leads.

Award: Best Plan B for a Marketing Campaign, 2026 Crystal Awards.

The problem: Decision-makers were clicking, but nobody was converting, and nothing about the targeting explained why.

When the Obvious Creative Doesn’t Convert

Each account had an easy answer available. At CompleteRx, it was assuming the audience was wrong. At Blue Ox, it was running the same ads as every other mover in Houston. Both wins started with turning that answer down.

CompleteRx’s first campaign reached the right people, but not one of them converted into a lead. Rather than assume the audience was wrong, Optidge paused the campaign in April 2025 and diagnosed it across three variables: audience quality, ad format, and value exchange.

The team’s conclusion: “The issue was how the campaign delivered value, not who it targeted.” Optidge replaced static single-image ads with swipeable LinkedIn document ads, which are multi-page PDFs that deliver educational content in the feed before asking for contact information.

Blue Ox faced a different version of the same lesson. With no paid social history to lean on, the fastest route would have been copying the category’s standard ads. Optidge built the creative around Joe’s own voice and the company’s story instead, while testing 17 prospecting audiences to find the Houston homeowners most likely to book.

The case study sums it up: “The Blue Ox campaign demonstrates what becomes possible when a paid social program is built around a real brand story rather than discount banners and stock footage.”

Meet the Buyer Where Their Skepticism Lives

A hospital executive and a homeowner build trust in almost opposite ways, so each campaign’s creative had to start from that buyer’s specific doubts.

Blue Ox’s buyer is emotional and trust-driven: a homeowner deciding whether to let strangers handle a lifetime of irreplaceable belongings.

The creative had to earn trust before asking for a booking. Joe’s videos told the founding story and walked through exactly how a Blue Ox move works, with no voice-over or polished script. Emotional “heirloom” ads and customer testimonials rounded out the system, rotated by how warm each audience was. The owner-led videos outperformed agency-produced creative by roughly 2x on CTR.

CompleteRx’s buyer is analytical and research-driven: a hospital executive who evaluates vendors over several months and expects to see subject-matter expertise before handing over contact information. So every document ad led with the audience’s own problems and left the vendor’s results for later.

The team tested three rounds of document content, moving from broad industry challenges to financial inefficiencies to regulatory risk, and kept the messaging tied to whichever pain point was resonating most.

Measurement Made the Win Possible

In both accounts, the platform’s own dashboard wasn’t enough to judge the work. Each needed a second layer of measurement before the team could see what was working.

Blue Ox’s booking lag runs one to six months, so Meta’s in-platform reporting would have made the program’s early months look like failures. Optidge built a custom attribution pipeline that links closed-job revenue back to the month of ad spend that sourced it.

Without that layer, the program almost certainly would have been cut during an early-summer dip. Instead, a September audience audit and the launch of Joe’s videos produced a step change in efficiency, and the fall months delivered nearly three times the ROAS of the launch period. By year-end:

  • 2.47x blended ROAS, 23% above the 2.0x target
  • 3.31x pipeline-adjusted ROAS, counting leads still moving through the sales funnel
  • The top 5 of 17 audiences delivering 80% of closed revenue

Blue Ox renewed its engagement with Optidge and committed to scaling the Meta program further.

CompleteRx’s turnaround relied on a different kind of measurement discipline. Holding audience targeting constant meant any performance change could be attributed to the creative pivot alone. That’s what makes the result useful beyond one account: when only one variable moves, you know exactly what to keep.

Leads from LinkedIn’s native forms went straight into CompleteRx’s HubSpot CRM. The sales team contacted prospects within hours and categorized lead quality by hand, giving Optidge a steady feedback loop for each new round of content.

The first month after the pivot produced 5 leads, including 2 MQLs, the account’s first qualified conversions. Over the rest of 2025:

  • 28 MQLs, against an annual goal of 7
  • Clicks up 877%, from 52 to 508
  • CTR up 28%, from 0.50% to 0.64%

CompleteRx then expanded into a multi-channel partnership with Optidge for 2026, adding paid search and SEO content marketing.

The Series, Looking Back

When we announced our 2026 AMA Houston Crystal Awards results, we promised the full case studies were coming. This series was the follow-through, with each post built around a different kind of problem.

  • Spotlight #1 covered paid search: SimplyHome and Heartlinks ABA, two accounts that won by tracking ad spend all the way to signed business.
  • Spotlight #2 covered e-commerce: Brian Gavin Diamonds and Oasis Tile, a paid display win and an SEO finalist built on patience over assumption.
  • Spotlight #3 covered FamilyTreeDNA, a client that earned two finalist nods in one year through a full-account rebuild and a single video nobody touched for 12 months.

This post closes it out with paid social: Blue Ox and CompleteRx, two campaigns that took very different shapes because their buyers did.

Looking across all four, the campaigns that earned recognition had less to do with any single channel than with habits we try to bring to every account. We get specific about who the buyer is. When something isn’t working, we find the cause before changing course, and we don’t treat a platform’s own numbers as the final word.

None of it happens without the clients themselves. Joe was willing to step in front of the camera for his own ads, and CompleteRx’s sales team qualified every lead by hand within hours. That kind of partnership, and the patience to let a program prove itself, is a big part of what these awards recognize.
